Our client is seeking a seasoned Head of Litigation to lead employment and industrial relations disputes while overseeing broader litigation matters. Reporting to the BoD, this role requires a strategic and highly influential legal leader with strong litigation experience, stakeholder networks, and the ability to navigate complex, high-stakes disputes.

Job Description

Litigation Strategy & Case Management

  • Lead the company's litigation function and develop proactive legal strategies to protect business interests.
  • Handle complex employment, industrial relations, labor union, manpower, and workforce-related disputes.
  • Manage civil, administrative, regulatory, commercial, and other corporate litigation matters as required.
  • Assess legal risks and formulate offensive and defensive litigation approaches.
  • Oversee litigation portfolios from initial assessment through resolution, settlement, or judgment.



Employment & Industrial Relations

  • Act as the key counsel for sensitive employment disputes involving executives, employees, unions, and external stakeholders.
  • Develop strategies for workforce restructuring, disciplinary actions, terminations, collective disputes, and industrial relations matters.
  • Provide practical legal guidance to HR and business leaders on employment-related risks and dispute prevention.
  • Represent company interests in manpower-related proceedings and negotiations.



Stakeholder Management

  • Build and maintain strong professional relationships with external legal counsel, regulators, relevant authorities, industry stakeholders, and dispute-resolution bodies.
  • Coordinate with internal leadership to ensure alignment between legal strategy and business objectives.
  • Advise senior management on high-risk litigation and reputational matters.



Leadership & Governance

  • Lead and mentor the litigation team while driving high standards of legal execution.
  • Manage external legal firms and litigation budgets effectively.
  • Prepare executive-level updates and recommendations for senior leadership.
  • Strengthen litigation governance, processes, and risk management frameworks.

The Successful Applicant

Experience & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Law; Master's Degree is an advantage.
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive litigation experience.
  • Strong track record handling employment, labor, industrial relations, and workforce-related disputes.
  • Additional exposure to commercial, civil, regulatory, and corporate litigation matters is highly preferred.
  • Experience gained from leading law firms, major corporations, or a combination of both.



Technical Expertise

  • Deep understanding of Indonesian employment law, industrial relations, and dispute-resolution processes.
  • Strong litigation planning, negotiation, advocacy, and dispute-management capabilities.
  • Ability to balance legal strategy with commercial business considerations.
  • Experienced in managing sensitive and high-profile disputes.
