Job Description

As a Business Development Director (NGO), your main responsibilities will include:

  • Develop and execute the organization's business development strategy to drive growth, strengthen market presence, and support long-term sustainability.
  • Identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities, strategic partnerships, and client engagements across priority sectors.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, partners, donors, and stakeholders to foster long-term collaboration and business growth.
  • Lead the development of high-quality proposals, presentations, and partnership solutions that address client needs and organizational objectives.
  • Manage and expand a portfolio of strategic accounts, ensuring high levels of client satisfaction, retention, and account growth.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design innovative solutions and ensure successful delivery of client commitments.
  • Monitor market trends, competitive activities, and emerging opportunities to inform business development priorities and strategic decision-making.
  • Lead commercial negotiations and partnership discussions to establish mutually beneficial agreements and maximize organizational value.
  • Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing business development team, setting clear objectives and driving a culture of accountability and excellence.
  • Provide regular pipeline, partnership, and growth performance reports to senior leadership, while identifying risks and opportunities to achieve business objectives.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Business Development Director (NGO) should have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, Economics, International Relations, or a related field; Master's degree is preferred.
  • Minimum 12-15 years of progressive experience in business development, strategic partnerships, client management, or commercial leadership roles.
  • Proven track record of securing and growing high-value client relationships, partnerships, and business opportunities.
  • Strong experience developing and executing business development strategies that drive sustainable growth and organizational impact.
  • Demonstrated success in leading complex negotiations and managing senior-level stakeholder relationships.
  • Excellent understanding of client acquisition, account management, and partnership lifecycle management.
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to assess opportunities, manage pipelines, and achieve growth targets.
  • Experience leading, coaching, and developing high-performing teams within a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and influencing skills, with the ability to engage effectively with executives and external stakeholders.
  • Fluent in English and Bahasa Indonesia, with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build trusted relationships across diverse stakeholder groups.
