Our client is looking for a senior manufacturing process engineer to support automation and equipment-related projects across assembly and testing operations. This is a regional individual contributor role, with occasional travel to support other sites when required.

Our client is a global manufacturing company with a strong presence across multiple countries. The team supports regional engineering projects, focusing on improving production efficiency, machine performance, automation capability, and equipment readiness across manufacturing lines.

Job Description

  • Define and prepare machine specifications based on production and process requirements.
  • Work closely with equipment suppliers on machine concepts, technical design, and development.
  • Review machine cost estimates, project feasibility, and ROI calculation for automation investment.
  • Lead machine qualification after supplier completion to ensure equipment meets required standards.
  • Evaluate early-stage machine performance and drive improvements to reach stable, high-performing output.
  • Support automation projects across assembly and testing stations, depending on project assignment.
  • Handle testers such as vision test, functional test, testing systems, and related instruments.
  • Support line balance, production flow design, automation process, welding, screwing, and PLC-related equipment.
  • Collaborate with regional engineering teams across different countries while supporting the main project base in Batam.
  • Provide technical input to improve production line efficiency, machine reliability, and overall process performance.

The Successful Applicant

  • 7 Years of experience in Machine Automation
  • Strong experience in machine specification, machine design coordination, and machine qualification.
  • Experience working with suppliers to build or improve production equipment.
  • Solid understanding of automation, assembly process, testing process, and manufacturing line improvement.
  • Familiar with machine cost estimation, ROI calculation, and equipment investment justification.
  • Strong technical knowledge in either testing machines or assembly automation.
  • Uses testing programming such as Labview
  • Experience in line balancing, production flow, PLC, welding, screwing, and automation process is preferred.
  • Able to use AutoCAD
  • Good English communication skills; Mandarin is an advantage
