Job Description

As a Research & Development Manager professional, your main responsibilities will include:

  • Develop and refine product concepts in line with business needs and manufacturing requirements.
  • Plan and carry out research activities to inform product and process development decisions.
  • Test product samples and record results clearly to support development work.
  • Review test findings and identify practical improvements for products and production processes.
  • Work with Engineering & Manufacturing colleagues to assess whether new developments can be applied in production.
  • Prepare clear documentation for development trials, product specifications and test outcomes.
  • Monitor development activities and maintain accurate records of progress and results.
  • Contribute ideas that improve product quality, consistency and manufacturability.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Research & Development Manager professional should have:

  • Experience in research, product development or process development activities.
  • Ability to plan, conduct and document product or process trials.
  • Ability to review test results and translate findings into practical actions.
  • Knowledge of product development workflows within an Engineering & Manufacturing setting.
  • Ability to prepare accurate development records, specifications and reports.
  • Ability to work closely with manufacturing colleagues on development requirements.
