Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute corporate affairs and stakeholder engagement strategies aligned with business objectives.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with government agencies, regulators, local communities, industry associations, and other key stakeholders.
  • Serve as a key liaison between the mining operation and external stakeholders to ensure constructive and sustainable partnerships.
  • Support permitting, licensing, and regulatory engagement activities as required.
  • Monitor political, regulatory, and social developments that may impact business operations and provide strategic recommendations.
  • Collaborate closely with operational, legal, sustainability, and leadership teams on stakeholder-related matters.
  • Develop communication materials, presentations, and stakeholder reports for both internal and external audiences.
  • Identify potential risks and issues while proactively implementing mitigation strategies.
  • Establish governance frameworks and stakeholder management processes to support the growth of the business.
  • Develop and oversee CSR and community engagement initiatives to strengthen relationships with local communities and support the company's Social License to Operate (SLO).
  • Represent the company in meetings, forums, and stakeholder discussions when required.

The Successful Applicant

Requirements

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in Corporate Affairs, External Relations, Government Relations, Public Affairs, or related functions.
  • Experience in mining, natural resources, energy, infrastructure, or other highly regulated industries is highly advantageous.
  • Demonstrated success in building and managing relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to balance strategic thinking and practical execution.
  • Highly proactive, self-driven, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  • Able to make calculated decisions while maintaining a structured and systematic approach to problem-solving.
  • Possess strong initiative and a genuine desire to contribute beyond a traditional job scope.
  • Street-smart, resilient, and adaptable, with the ability to navigate complex stakeholder environments.
  • Excellent communication, influencing, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline; advanced qualifications are a plus.
