Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Technical Leadership: Define and own backend architecture strategy for scalable, secure, and resilient financial platforms.
  • Team Management: Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing backend engineering team across multiple geographies.
  • Innovation & Delivery: Drive adoption of modern engineering practices (microservices, event-driven architecture, CI/CD, cloud deployments).
  • Collaboration: Partner with product, security, and infrastructure teams to deliver robust solutions aligned with business goals.
  • Performance Optimization: Ensure backend systems meet stringent SLAs for latency, throughput, and reliability.
  • Compliance & Security: Embed best practices for data security and regulatory compliance in all backend solutions.

The Successful Applicant

Ideal Candidate

  • Experience:
    • 15+ years in backend engineering, with at least 7+ years in leadership roles.
    • Proven track record in designing and scaling distributed systems for high-volume financial or transactional platforms.
  • Technical Expertise:
    • Advanced proficiency in Golang and Java.
    • Strong knowledge of microservices, API design, and event-driven architectures.
    • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and container orchestration (Kubernetes).
  • Leadership Skills:
    • Ability to inspire and lead diverse engineering teams.
    • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Bonus:
    • Exposure to fintech, banking, or payment systems.
    • Familiarity with security standards (PCI DSS, ISO 27001).
