You will be responsible for defining and executing the company's Data & AI strategy and evolving its existing modern data stack into an AI-driven platform capable of supporting real-time analytics, intelligent recommendations, natural-language analytics and agentic AI capabilities.

About Our Client

We are conducting a confidential executive search for a senior Data & AI leader to spearhead the transformation of a regional technology business from traditional business intelligence and analytics into an AI-driven intelligence platform.

Job Description

Key priorities will include:

  • Define the enterprise Data, Analytics & AI strategy and roadmap, connecting technology investments directly to product and business priorities.
  • Transform the organization from dashboard-led analytics toward proactive, predictive and prescriptive intelligence.
  • Architect and evolve a scalable modern data platform spanning data warehousing, pipelines, semantic layers, BI and real-time data capabilities.
  • Drive practical adoption of Generative AI and LLM-powered analytics, including copilots, RAG, natural-language interfaces, conversational BI and automated insight generation.
  • Develop intelligent systems across areas such as forecasting, recommendations, anomaly detection, optimization and automated reporting.
  • Establish the foundations required for future agentic AI systems capable of analysing information, recommending actions and increasingly automating decisions.
  • Strengthen data governance, quality, privacy, security, lineage, scalability and cost efficiency.
  • Create AI-powered self-service analytics capabilities that allow business users to access insights with less dependency on centralized data teams.
  • Partner closely with Product, Engineering and commercial/business leaders to embed intelligence into operational workflows.
  • Build and lead a multidisciplinary organization spanning Data Engineering, Analytics Engineering, Data Science and BI.



The Successful Applicant

We are particularly interested in senior leaders who combine strategic vision with genuine technical depth.

You are likely to bring:

  • 10+ years of experience across data, analytics and/or AI, including at least 3 years in leadership positions.
  • A strong track record of building and scaling modern data platforms and multidisciplinary data teams.
  • Relevant exposure to ecommerce, marketplaces, MarTech or other high-volume digital platforms.
  • Strong modern data stack expertise, with experience around technologies such as BigQuery, dbt, Airflow, real-time pipelines and semantic layers.
  • Hands-on understanding of Generative AI / LLM architectures, including RAG, copilots and natural-language interfaces.
  • Practical machine-learning expertise across areas such as forecasting, optimization and recommendation systems.
  • Familiarity with MLOps, feature stores, vector databases and AI orchestration frameworks.
  • Understanding of experimentation frameworks, causal inference, scalable data modelling and governance.
  • Experience operating across multiple countries or Southeast Asia would be advantageous.

  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity and building in a fast-moving technology environment.
  • An effective builder of high-performing technical teams.
  • Pragmatic, highly analytical and outcome-oriented.
  • Able to communicate complex AI and data concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
