This role is designed for an ESG professional who can bridge quantitative financial modelling with ESG impact analysis to guide sound investment decisions. You will work closely with investment teams, investment risk, and portfolio companies to embed ESG implementations across the entire deal lifecycle.

Job Description

  • Conduct ESG due diligence for new investments, collaborating with investment teams, consultants, and project sponsors.
  • Identify and quantify material ESG risks across sectors and asset classes.
  • Translate ESG issues into measurable financial impacts (e.g., revenue, costs, capex, opex, valuation, cashflows).
  • Draft ESG sections for investment papers and investment committee submissions.
  • Perform ongoing ESG monitoring of portfolio companies, including tracking KPIs, reviewing reports and analysis, and escalating material risks.
  • Partner with investment teams to ensure ESG is embedded in deal processes.
  • Coordinate with external advisors as needed.
  • Stay updated on ESG standards, market practices, and expectations (e.g., climate risk, transition risk).
  • Contribute to the development of internal ESG tools, guidelines, and methodologies.

The Successful Applicant

  • Holds a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Environmental Studies, Engineering, Sustainability, or a related discipline.
  • Brings at least 5 years of experience in ESG, investment analysis, transaction advisory, sustainability consulting, or similar fields.
  • Proven track record supporting due diligence processes, ideally across private market investments such as equity, infrastructure, or private credit.
  • Demonstrates strong analytical capability to interpret complex ESG issues, generate insights, and produce clear, investment-focused documentation.
  • Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to translate ESG assessments into concise and actionable insights for stakeholders.
  • Able to work independently, handle competing priorities, and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a dynamic environment.Deep knowledge of key ESG standards and reporting frameworks, including IFRS S1/S2, TCFD, SASB, GRI, and other relevant guidelines.
  • Strong financial acumen with a solid grasp of financial statements, valuation methodologies, and cash flow modelling.
