Job Description



Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive external relations strategy aligned with the company's business objectives
  • Lead government relations across central, regional, and local levels, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and policy developments
  • Manage community relations (ComRel), including land, social, and stakeholder issues, to minimise operational disruption
  • Oversee permit-related stakeholder engagement, supporting timely approvals and compliance
  • Anticipate and mitigate social and political risks, including managing sensitive issues such as community resistance, land disputes, and local dynamics
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with government bodies, local leaders, NGOs, and other key stakeholders
  • Provide strategic input to leadership on external risk factors impacting operations
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing external relations team

The Successful Applicant

Requirements

  • Minimum 18+ years of experience, with a strong track record in mining or natural resources
  • Proven leadership experience in external relations, government affairs, or community relations roles
  • Demonstrated success operating in dynamic and high-complexity environments, including managing stakeholder conflict and operational challenges
  • Strong experience in permits, land-related matters, and regulatory engagement within mining operations
  • Deep understanding of Indonesian regulatory landscape and stakeholder ecosystem
  • Track record in minimising disruption and securing social license to operate (SLO)
  • Strong interpersonal and influencing skills, with the ability to engage effectively at executive, government, and community levels
  • Experience working in remote or site-based environments is highly preferred
