Job Description

  1. Lead the governance and oversight of the digital transformation portfolio, ensuring initiatives progress through structured decision-making and delivery frameworks.
  2. Establish and maintain portfolio management practices, providing leadership teams with clear visibility over priorities, dependencies, risks, resource allocation, and business outcomes.
  3. Drive business case governance, investment evaluation, and funding prioritization to ensure resources are directed toward the highest-value initiatives.
  4. Monitor and manage value realization across the transformation portfolio, ensuring expected operational, financial, and strategic benefits are achieved.
  5. Develop and maintain enterprise-wide transformation roadmaps, balancing delivery capacity, organizational readiness, and strategic priorities.
  6. Own vendor and sourcing governance, including technology partner selection, commercial oversight, contract management, and buy-versus-build decision support.
  7. Manage transformation-related budgets and provide financial transparency around digital and technology investments.
  8. Lead and develop a high-performing TMO function covering portfolio management, enterprise architecture, technology sourcing, commercial management, and value assurance.
  9. Partner with business, technology, and transformation leaders to ensure alignment between strategic objectives and execution priorities.
  10. Provide executive stakeholders with objective insights on delivery performance, investment effectiveness, risk exposure, and transformation progress.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Transformation Manager Officer (TMO) should have:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related discipline. Postgraduate qualifications such as an MBA or Master's degree are advantageous.
  2. Minimum 10 years of experience within transformation, portfolio management, PMO, program leadership, strategy execution, or large-scale change environments.
  3. Demonstrated experience governing enterprise portfolios, managing investment decision-making processes, and overseeing value realization across complex programs.
  4. Strong background in business case development, funding governance, delivery assurance, and executive reporting.
  5. Experience managing senior stakeholders, external vendors, sourcing strategies, and commercial technology partnerships.
  6. Exposure to enterprise architecture, technology governance, and organizational transformation initiatives is highly desirable.
  7. Experience within mining, energy, manufacturing, infrastructure, or other large-scale operational environments would be advantageous, although candidates from similarly complex organizations are encouraged to apply.
