Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and manage relationships with external legal counsels while monitoring quality and cost effectiveness of legal services
  • Draft, review, negotiate, and advise on a wide range of commercial and legal agreements
  • Manage and implement commercial contracts including EPCIC contracts, operation & maintenance agreements, lease agreements, gas sale agreements, and sales & purchase agreements
  • Design, implement, and improve internal contract management policies, procedures, and guidelines
  • Provide practical legal advice to internal stakeholders across operational and commercial matters
  • Ensure company operations comply with applicable laws, regulations, and internal governance standards
  • Conduct legal training and awareness sessions related to contract processes and compliance matters
  • Handle corporate secretarial matters and support corporate governance requirements
  • Coordinate dispute resolution and litigation matters, including strategy discussions with external counsels and settlement negotiations
  • Support regional management on legal matters and strategic business initiatives as required

The Successful Applicant

Key Requirements

  • Minimum 10 years of legal experience
  • Strong exposure to the oil & gas or broader energy industry, either upstream or downstream
  • Candidates from reputable international or leading Indonesian law firms with oil & gas sector exposure are also encouraged to apply
  • Strong experience handling commercial contracts and complex legal documentation
  • Familiarity with Indonesian regulatory and compliance frameworks related to the energy sector
  • Experience managing external legal counsels and cross-functional stakeholders
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills
  • Commercially minded with the ability to provide practical and business-oriented legal solutions
  • Fluent English communication skills, both written and verbal, will be advantageous
