About Our Client

A well‑established chemical distribution company specializing in food ingredients and food additives is seeking an experienced Head of Sales to lead its commercial function. This is a senior leadership role responsible for driving sales growth, overseeing P&L, and managing a high‑performing technical and sales team.

Job Description

  • Develop and execute the national sales strategy for food ingredients and additives.
  • Drive revenue growth and expand market share across targeted food manufacturing sectors.
  • Lead sales forecasting, market planning, and customer engagement initiatives.
  • Provide coaching, mentoring, and performance direction to build a strong commercial team.
  • Ensure alignment between sales, technical, and operations teams.
  • Oversee the full P&L for the food ingredients business.
  • Collaborate with supply chain, operations, and finance to ensure smooth order execution and customer satisfaction.
  • Optimize pricing strategies and margin performance.
  • Build and nurture relationships with key food manufacturers, distributors, and industry partners.
  • Identify new business opportunities and develop strategic growth initiatives.
  • Represent the company in customer meetings, industry events, and negotiations.



The Successful Applicant

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in food ingredients, food additives, or related chemical distribution roles.
  • Preferred background from chemical trading companies, ideally multinational organizations.
  • 15-20 years total experience, with proven leadership in managing commercial teams.
  • Strong commercial acumen with hands‑on knowledge of the food manufacturing ecosystem.
  • Experience overseeing similar team sizes and cross‑functional responsibilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage P&L, drive growth, and lead operational execution.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
