Job Description

As a Head of Merchandising, your main responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and implementing merchandising strategies for the beauty category.
  • Analysing market trends and customer preferences to optimise product assortment.
  • Negotiating with suppliers to secure favourable terms and maintain strong relationships.
  • Monitoring sales performance and adjusting strategies to achieve targets.
  • Collaborating with marketing teams to design effective promotional campaigns.
  • Ensuring stock levels are optimised to meet customer demand while minimising excess inventory.
  • Leading and mentoring a team to achieve departmental objectives.
  • Providing regular reports and insights to senior management.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Head of Merchandising should have:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Communication, or other related field.
  • Proven expertise in merchandising within the retail industry, particularly in the beauty category.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret market data and trends.
  • Experience in supplier management and negotiation.
  • Excellent leadership abilities to guide and inspire a team.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills across departments.
  • A results-oriented mindset with a focus on achieving sales and profitability goals.
