Our client is a fast-growing renewable energy company committed to accelerating Indonesia's clean energy transition. As the business expands into utility-scale projects, they are looking for an experienced Government Relations professional to strengthen strategic partnerships across the public sector.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain strategic relationships with government stakeholders, regulators, state-owned enterprises and industry partners.
  • Build engagement with key institutions including PLN and other relevant government bodies to support business development initiatives.
  • Identify and monitor upcoming infrastructure and renewable energy opportunities before formal procurement or tender stages.
  • Monitor regulatory and policy developments, assess potential business impacts and provide strategic recommendations.
  • Represent the company in government meetings, industry forums and stakeholder engagements.
  • Coordinate closely with Business Development, Operations, ESG and Legal teams to support project execution.
  • Support permitting strategy where required and coordinate with external consultants or vendors throughout approval processes.
  • Develop stakeholder engagement plans to strengthen the company's long-term presence within the renewable energy ecosystem.
  • Prepare stakeholder mapping, government engagement strategies and management updates.

The Successful Applicant

Key Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Law, Political Science, Public Policy, Engineering, Business or a related discipline.
  • Approximately 8-15 years of experience in Government Relations, Government Affairs, External Affairs or Public Policy.
  • Established network within Indonesian government agencies, regulators, SOEs or infrastructure sectors.
  • Experience engaging with senior government stakeholders and managing complex external relationships.
  • Commercial mindset with the ability to identify and unlock strategic business opportunities.
  • Strong understanding of Indonesia's regulatory environment.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
  • Comfortable travelling frequently and spending significant time meeting external stakeholders.
  • Experience in renewable energy, power, infrastructure, mining or other regulated industries would be advantageous.
