Our client is a well-established and growing player in the coal logistics and hauling sector in Indonesia. With a strong presence in supporting mining operations, the company is focused on operational excellence, safety, and continuous improvement across its projects. To support ongoing expansion, they are seeking a seasoned General Manager Operations to drive performance and efficiency across multiple sites.

Job Description

The General Manager Operations will be responsible for leading end-to-end operational performance across coal hauling activities. This role will oversee project execution, fleet productivity, safety compliance, and cost optimisation while ensuring strong stakeholder management with clients and internal teams.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading daily operations across multiple coal hauling sites
  • Driving operational KPIs including productivity, cost control, and safety standards
  • Managing large-scale fleets, manpower planning, and maintenance strategies
  • Building strong client relationships and ensuring contract delivery excellence
  • Implementing continuous improvement initiatives and operational best practices
  • Developing and mentoring operational leadership teams

The Successful Applicant

A successful General Manager Operations should have:

  • Proven minimum 15 years experience in coal hauling, mining contractor, or heavy equipment operations
  • Strong track record in leading large-scale, multi-site operations
  • Deep understanding of fleet management, maintenance, and logistics optimisation
  • Demonstrated leadership, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills
  • Willingness to be based on-site or travel regularly to operational areas
