Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead government relations and external affairs across mining projects, particularly in Aceh.
  • Build and maintain relationships with central and regional government, regulators and relevant institutions.
  • Manage and support mining permits, licensing and regulatory processes.
  • Develop stakeholder engagement strategies covering local government, communities, influential stakeholders and other relevant parties.
  • Identify potential stakeholder, regulatory and community risks and develop practical mitigation strategies.
  • Support land, community and social engagement related to mining projects.
  • Provide stakeholder intelligence and advice to management on emerging regulatory and political developments.
  • Support new mining investments, acquisitions and project development, including stakeholder and regulatory due diligence.
  • Develop practical GR / stakeholder engagement processes and SOPs as the organisation grows.
  • Work closely with management and operational teams to ensure external affairs priorities are aligned with business objectives.
  • Take a hands-on approach to resolving issues rather than relying solely on external parties.

The Successful Applicant

Key Requirements

  • Mining / Natural Resources Experience
  • 8-15 years of relevant experience in Government Relations, External Affairs, Permitting or Stakeholder Relations, ideally within mining or natural resources.
  • Strong Aceh Exposure
  • Experience working in Aceh and understanding its government, community and stakeholder dynamics is highly preferred.
  • Hands-on & Commercial Mindset
  • Someone who can operate independently, navigate complex stakeholders and translate government / regulatory developments into practical business action.
