The Business Unit CEO will have full end‑to‑end accountability for the Retail & Distribution business. This role carries complete responsibility for strategy, P&L, commercial outcomes, operations, finance, people, and governance.

The company is a large‑scale retail and distribution business operating a nationwide network across Indonesia. It serves B2B customers through an extensive branch and logistics footprint, distributing core construction and building‑related products alongside complementary portfolio offerings.

Job Description

  • Define and execute the overall business and growth strategy for the Retail & Distribution unit.
  • Lead business transformation initiatives across commercial models, operations, people, and systems.
  • Balance near‑term performance delivery with long‑term value creation.
  • Maintain strong control of working capital, cash flow, inventory, accounts receivable, and capital allocation.
  • Establish and enforce credit and risk management frameworks, including credit policy, DSO, and NPL control.
  • Own full P&L performance, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Lead commercial contract negotiations and risk mitigation.
  • Oversee end‑to‑end distribution operations, including warehousing, logistics, and service‑level performance.
  • Optimize cost‑to‑serve while maintaining high delivery reliability and operational efficiency.
  • Ensure scalable, standardized operations across the national network.
  • Own pricing strategy, margin management, and volume growth, ensuring optimal trade‑offs across customer segments.
  • Lead B2B sales strategy, including key accounts, regional sales teams, channel management, and route‑to‑market.
  • Strengthen national distribution coverage and customer penetration.
  • Drive disciplined sales execution and performance accountability.
  • Build, lead, and develop a high‑caliber leadership team.
  • Embed a high‑performance, execution‑driven culture with clear targets and accountability.
  • Drive talent development, leadership capability, and succession planning.
  • Ensure alignment across functions and regions.
  • Governance & Stakeholder Management
  • Uphold strong corporate governance, internal controls, and compliance standards.
  • Act as the primary interface with the Board and key external stakeholders.
  • Provide clear, transparent, and data‑driven reporting on business performance and risks.

The Successful Applicant

  • 15-20 years of experience in distribution‑led, B2B‑focused businesses (e.g. building materials, industrial products, FMCG distribution).
  • Proven leadership experience at CEO, COO, Business Unit Head, or equivalent senior level, with full P&L ownership.
  • Strong exposure to nationwide retail and distribution networks.
  • Demonstrated success in commercial strategy, pricing, margin management, and key account leadership.
  • Hands‑on experience in business transformation, turnaround, or integration initiatives.
  • Deep understanding of working capital management, cash flow, credit risk, and financial discipline.
