This role combines commercial, technical, and strategic evaluation to support investment decisions, partnerships, acquisitions, and portfolio growth within the mining sector.

Job Description

As a Mining Business Development Manager, your main responsibilities will include:

  • Source and originate copper mining investment opportunities globally.
  • Build and manage a pipeline of exploration, development, and producing assets.
  • Conduct commercial and high-level technical assessments of copper projects.
  • Analyze project economics, costs, risks, and value drivers.
  • Develop financial models and valuation scenarios for investment decisions.
  • Coordinate technical, legal, ESG, and commercial due diligence.
  • Support structuring, negotiation, and execution of investment transactions.
  • Prepare investment memos and materials for internal approval committees.
  • Maintain relationships with project owners, partners, advisors, and stakeholders.
  • Monitor portfolio assets and support post-investment value creation.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Mining Business Development Manager should have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mining, Geology, Finance, Economics, or related field.
  • 7-12 years' experience in mining investment, corporate development, or resources advisory.
  • Strong exposure to copper projects and mining value chains.
  • Solid understanding of mining project development stages and risks.
  • Advanced financial modeling and investment analysis skills.
  • Ability to interpret technical reports (JORC, NI 43-101, feasibility studies).
  • Proven deal origination, evaluation, or transaction support experience.
  • Strong commercial, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Knowledge of ESG, regulatory, and jurisdictional factors in mining.
  • Willingness to travel and work across multiple geographies.
