Job Description

The Project Manager will be responsible for the overall leadership and performance of site operations, ensuring safe, efficient, and profitable project delivery.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead and manage mining, hauling, road construction, and maintenance projects.
  • Oversee Mine Planning, Mine Operations, and Mine Survey activities to achieve production targets.
  • Manage project execution, budgets, timelines, risks, and resource allocation.
  • Ensure equipment availability supports operational requirements.
  • Monitor operational and departmental costs to drive efficiency.
  • Collaborate with head office technical teams to improve productivity and operational performance.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, regulators, and other stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with SMKP, environmental regulations, company policies, and SOPs.
  • Provide strategic recommendations and operational solutions to senior management.
  • Develop high-performing teams through coaching, training, and leadership.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Project Manager should have:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mining Engineering.
  • Mandatory POU certification.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience as Project Manager or 5 years as Deputy Project Manager within a nickel mining contractor environment.
  • Strong knowledge of mine operations, mine planning, and project management.
  • Familiar with government regulations related to mining safety and environmental management.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage multi-functional site teams.
  • Strong stakeholder management, communication, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; technical mining software knowledge is an advantage.
  • Willing to work on a 6:2 roster basis in a remote site location.
