About Our Client

Our client is a leading mining company with a strong commitment to operational excellence and sustainable mining practices. They are currently seeking a highly skilled Tailing Supervisor to oversee the management and operation of their tailings storage facilities (TSF) in Indonesia.

Job Description

As the Tailing Supervisor, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and environmentally compliant management of tailings disposal and storage. Your key responsibilities include:

  • Overseeing daily operations of the Tailings Storage Facility (TSF), ensuring compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
  • Implementing geotechnical monitoring programs to assess stability, drainage, and overall integrity of the TSF.
  • Managing water balance and tailings deposition strategies to optimize operational efficiency and environmental sustainability.
  • Leading inspections, audits, and risk assessments, ensuring compliance with international standards such as GISTM (Global Industry Standard on Tailings Management).
  • Coordinating with engineering, environmental, and operations teams to implement best practices in tailings management.
  • Developing and delivering training programs to enhance the competency of TSF personnel.
  • Managing relationships with regulatory bodies, consultants, and stakeholders to ensure compliance and best practices.

The Successful Applicant

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering, Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in tailings management.
  • Strong technical knowledge of tailings storage facilities, dam safety, and geotechnical monitoring.
  • Familiarity with international best practices and regulatory standards (e.g., GISTM, ICMM guidelines, Indonesian mining regulations).
  • Proven experience in TSF operations, monitoring systems, and water management strategies.
  • Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
