About Our Client

We are currently working with a leading data center company who is looking for a competent Operations Director to help them in this time of growth.

Job Description

  • Build, train, and lead the data center operations team, overseeing all aspects of facilities management across various disciplines.
  • Collaborate with the data center business development team to provide technical and operational input for RFP responses.
  • Act as the internal client for the data center project team, reviewing and supervising design and construction to ensure operational functionality and compliance with client requirements.
  • Oversee daily operations, including incident response, maintenance planning, capacity management, and coordination with the onsite/remote team as well as NOC/SOC personnel.
  • Ensure adherence to client SLAs in all areas of operation.
  • Manage small-scale expansion and migration projects within existing facilities.
  • Develop and enforce comprehensive management and compliance protocols for high-reliability data center operations, meeting industry standards.
  • Work closely with IT teams to facilitate smooth hardware installations, network setups, and ongoing maintenance.
  • Monitor and maintain high standards of cybersecurity, physical security, and logical security.
  • Manage relationships with vendors and contractors, ensuring service agreements and performance expectations are consistently met.
  • Lead disaster recovery planning and drive initiatives for data center scalability.
  • Oversee the operational budget, including cost forecasting and optimization strategies.
  • Implement continuous improvements in operational processes and disaster response planning.
  • Ensure sustainability goals are achieved and certifications such as ISO are maintained and renewed as required.
  • Provide leadership and promote professional growth within the team, encouraging a culture of excellence and continuous development.



The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Information Technology, MEP Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
  • Significant experience in managing data center operations, ideally in a leadership or executive role.
  • Deep technical expertise in data center systems, including power distribution, HVAC, Direct Liquid Cooling, and IT infrastructure.
  • Exceptional skills in organization, leadership, and strategic decision-making.
  • Proven ability to perform well under pressure and effectively manage crisis situations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with a proactive mindset for identifying and executing solutions.
  • Relevant certifications in data center operations, facilities management, or IT infrastructure are a plus.
