About Our Client

Our client is a leading multinational mining contractor with a strong footprint in Southeast Asia. As part of their commitment to operational excellence and sustainable mining practices, they are seeking a highly experienced and driven Mining Operation Section Head to join their on-site leadership team in Central Sulawesi, supporting large-scale nickel mining operations.

Job Description

As a Mining Operation Section Head, you will be responsible for ensuring that mining operations are carried out safely, efficiently, and in alignment with company standards and client requirements. You will lead a sizable team, manage daily production activities, and report directly to the Operation Manager.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Oversee day-to-day nickel mining operations and ensure targets are met in terms of production, safety, and cost-efficiency
  • Coordinate with planning, maintenance, and engineering teams to optimize operational performance
  • Ensure compliance with HSE standards and government regulations
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop team members to build a high-performing operation team
  • Lead shift handovers and ensure seamless operational continuity
  • Analyze and report operational KPIs to management and proactively identify areas for improvement
  • Drive the implementation of operational excellence and continuous improvement initiatives

The Successful Applicant

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mining Engineering or related field
  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in mining operations, preferably in nickel or other laterite deposits
  • Strong track record in managing contractor-based operations for nickel mines and leading large operational teams
  • Possession of POP and POM certifications (POU is a plus)
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Fluent in Bahasa Indonesia; English proficiency is highly preferred
  • Willing to be based full-time in Central Sulawesi on a roster schedule
