Job Description

  • Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols and life‑saving rules across all mill activities.
  • Lead daily mill operations to achieve production rate, output stability, and quality standards.
  • Provide hands‑on coaching to assistant managers who recently transitioned from staff-level roles.
  • Manage operational planning, scheduling, and resource allocation for optimal plant performance.
  • Support plant commissioning and start‑up activities, ensuring readiness, stability, and compliance.
  • Drive improvements in overall production performance, efficiency, and profitability.
  • Prepare and manage the plant's operational budget, ensuring strong cost control and disciplined spending.
  • Lead process optimization initiatives to reduce losses, improve reliability, and enhance equipment uptime.
  • Champion digitalization and automation projects to modernize process monitoring and plant control systems.
  • Provide timely reporting and communication to senior leadership, including foreign management, requiring functional English communication skills.
  • Set and reinforce clear expectations for technical excellence, production discipline, and team accountability.

The Successful Applicant

  • A degree in Industrial, Chemical, or Mechanical engineering
  • 10+ years of experience in palm oil or kernel crushing milling, or heavy industrial production
  • Strong technical mastery in mill operations, production systems, equipment, and yield optimization.
  • Proven leadership ability to guide a team needing coaching, especially assistant managers still strengthening their technical depth.
  • Solid English proficiency
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to collaborate with upstream and downstream functions, especially when it comes to safety.
