This role will focus on contract management, providing legal advisory across trading activities, and handling a wide range of ad hoc matters. Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements, including trading, supply, logistics, and service contracts
  • Provide legal advisory on trading transactions across energy, plantation, and transportation sectors, including detailed guidance on Incoterms and risk allocation
  • Support end-to-end contract lifecycle management, ensuring alignment with business objectives and legal risk mitigation
  • Advise on general corporate matters, including governance, compliance, and internal policies
  • Work closely with cross-functional stakeholders (commercial, operations, finance) to support day-to-day legal needs
  • Identify legal and regulatory risks and provide practical, business-oriented solutions
  • Support dispute resolution matters and liaise with external counsel when required
  • Handle a broad range of ad hoc legal projects in a fast-paced and evolving business environment

The Successful Applicant

Key Requirements

  • Minimum 8 years of relevant legal experience, ideally gained in multinational companies or reputable law firms
  • Strong exposure to trading-related legal work, with a solid understanding of Incoterms and international commercial transactions
  • Proven experience in drafting and negotiating complex commercial contracts
  • Well-rounded legal skillset, covering general corporate, compliance, and contract management
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to provide pragmatic, solutions-oriented legal advice
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and partner with non-legal teams
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken, with strong communication and drafting skills
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • High level of integrity, attention to detail, and professional judgment
