Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide legal counsel and strategic guidance on all aspects of mining operations, including contracts, permits, and regulatory compliance.
  • Oversee and manage the Legal, CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility), External Relations, Permitting, and Community Development (Comdev) functions.
  • Ensure timely acquisition and renewal of mining permits and licenses in compliance with local and national regulations.
  • Develop and implement risk management strategies to safeguard company interests.
  • Represent the company in negotiations, dispute resolutions, and interactions with government authorities and stakeholders.
  • Drive CSR initiatives and community engagement programs to strengthen relationships with local communities.
  • Maintain high standards of governance and ethical practices across all operations.

The Successful Applicant

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Law; additional certifications in mining law or corporate governance are a plus.
  • Minimum 10 years of legal experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role within the mining or natural resources sector.
  • Strong knowledge of Indonesian mining regulations and permitting processes.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to travel frequently to remote mining sites with up to 4 weeks stay every once in awhile.
  • Proven track record in managing multidisciplinary teams (Legal, CSR, External Relations, Permitting, Comdev).
