Job Description

  • Joint Venture Compliance & Governance: Ensure the joint venture operates in accordance with the agreed legal frameworks, governance structures, and local regulations.
  • Company Establishment: Lead and oversee the legal aspects of establishing a greenfield manufacturing operation in the industrial estate, including company formation, land acquisition, licensing, and compliance.
  • Local Representation: Act as the primary legal representative of the company at the local level, building and maintaining strong relationships with external stakeholders, including government bodies, regulatory agencies, and industry associations.
  • Investment Realization: Oversee and support the legal execution of the company's investment commitments in Indonesia, ensuring alignment with local laws and global HQ strategies.
  • Policy & SOP Implementation: Localize and implement global legal standards, corporate policies, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure alignment across jurisdictions.
  • Stakeholder & Government Relations: Proactively manage relationships with key government stakeholders and authorities to facilitate smooth business operations and compliance.
  • Dispute & Risk Management: Handle legal disputes, litigation, or arbitration involving the company and provide proactive risk mitigation strategies.
  • Labour & Employment Advisory: Advise on employment law, industrial relations matters, workforce structuring, and compliance with local labour regulations.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Monitor, advise, and ensure adherence to all relevant regulations, including manufacturing, environmental, health & safety, and corporate laws.
  • Strategic Legal Advisor to HQ: Serve as the legal trustee and strategic advisor to headquarters, ensuring HQ objectives are legally translated and executed at the local level.

The Successful Applicant

Key Requirements:

  • Minimum of 10 years of legal experience, preferably in the manufacturing, industrial, or energy sector.
  • Proven track record in joint venture structures and managing cross-border legal matters.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with demonstrated ability to influence and partner across functions and cultures.
  • BAR-registered lawyer in Indonesia.
  • Excellent command of English (both verbal and written) to interact with regional and global stakeholders.
  • Willingness to be based full-time in Karawang Industrial Estate.
