A well-established company operating in the industrial and farming sector, with vertically integrated operations covering production, supply chain, land assets, and commercial activities. As the business continues to scale and professionalize its governance, they are seeking a Head of Legal to provide strong legal leadership, risk management, and operational support across the organization.

Job Description

  • Lead and manage all legal matters across the company, including corporate, commercial, regulatory, land, and operational issues.
  • Act as a trusted legal advisor to the CEO, Board of Directors, and senior management.
  • Oversee and handle corporate governance and corporate secretarial matters, including board meetings, resolutions, statutory filings, and regulatory reporting.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of contracts, including supplier, distributor, land use, partnership, and operational agreements.
  • Manage legal risks, disputes, and crisis situations, including regulatory issues, labor matters, operational incidents, and external claims.
  • Coordinate with external counsel, regulators, and government authorities when required.
  • Establish and maintain legal SOPs, approval processes, and documentation standards appropriate for an industrial and farming environment.
  • Provide strong internal stakeholder management, working closely with operations, finance, HR, procurement, and commercial teams to support day-to-day business needs.

The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor's degree in Law (SH); Master's degree is an advantage.
  • 10-15 years of legal experience, with exposure to industrial, agribusiness, manufacturing, or asset-heavy sectors preferred.
  • Experience in a senior leadership or head-of-function role.
  • Corporate Secretary background or strong corporate governance experience is highly appreciated.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle crisis management, disputes, and sensitive internal or external situations.
  • Strong operational mindset with the ability to work effectively in a lean team structure and remain hands-on when required.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
