The Head of BU is responsible for the strategic, commercial, and operational leadership of the tropical fruits business across Thailand and regional markets. This role carries full P&L accountability, oversees the end-to-end value chain, and drives profitable growth through innovation, market expansion, and operational excellence.

Job Description

Strategic & Business Leadership

  • Define and implement the business unit strategy (BUDP), including M&A opportunities and strategic partnerships.
  • Lead the development of the tropical fruits portfolio for both domestic and export markets.
  • Drive digital transformation and sustainability initiatives across the value chain.



Commercial & Financial Management

  • Own the business unit's P&L, ensuring revenue growth, margin optimisation, and cost control.
  • Monitor sales performance and implement corrective actions in collaboration with the commercial team.
  • Lead pricing strategy and margin structure in coordination with the pricing and finance teams.



Operations & Supply Chain

  • Oversee sourcing, post-harvest handling, cold chain logistics, and export compliance.
  • Ensure alignment with food safety, traceability, and sustainability standards (e.g., GAP, GMP, HACCP).
  • Optimise internal processes and systems to improve efficiency and scalability.



People & Organisational Development

  • Build and lead a high-performing, cross-functional team.
  • Provide technical and disciplinary leadership, coaching, and succession planning.
  • Ensure effective communication and collaboration across departments and with global stakeholders.



Innovation & Product Development

  • Maintain a robust innovation pipeline (ITM) for new product formats, packaging, and value-added tropical fruit products.
  • Analyse customer feedback and market trends to inform product lifecycle management.
  • Collaborate with R&D, marketing, and product teams to align innovation with market needs.



Customer & Market Engagement

  • Develop strong relationships with key customers, distributors, and government agencies.
  • Represent the business unit at trade shows, industry forums, and public engagements.
  • Ensure up-to-date communication on internal and external platforms, including product portfolio updates.

The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Agribusiness, Food Technology, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum 10-15 years of experience in agribusiness, fresh produce, or FMCG, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Key expertise in tropical fruits (pineapple, mango, passion fruit, guava, banana, papaya, mangosteen etc.)
  • Proven track record in managing P&L, leading transformation, and scaling operations.
  • Strong understanding of Thai agricultural ecosystems, export markets, and regulatory frameworks.
  • Fluency in Thai and English preferred.
