Job Description

  • Database Architecture & Design: Develop robust schemas, data models, and query strategies optimized for application-level performance and maintainability.
  • Backend Integration: Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure seamless alignment between database architecture and application logic.
  • Performance Optimization: Drive query tuning, indexing, and data access improvements for efficiency at scale.
  • Scalability & Reliability: Architect solutions for high availability and fault tolerance to support millions of transactions daily.
  • Data Strategy: Implement advanced techniques such as partitioning, sharding, replication, and caching to meet evolving business needs.
  • Technical Leadership: Provide architectural guidance and promote best practices across cross-functional teams.

The Successful Applicant

  • Ideally 8+ years of experience in database architecture design and implementation
  • Ideally coming from a start-up or technology company.
  • Strong knowledge of relational and non-relational databases, data modeling, and performance tuning.
  • Expertise in scalable database strategies and backend integration.
  • Collaborative mindset with experience in agile environments.
  • Solid understanding of how data supports business logic and product features.
