Job Description
- Set the technical vision and develop the technical strategy to support the goals of the business
- Partner with cross functional-teams including Product Management to translate product vision into a deliverable roadmap; reporting to the Board
- Lead and drive delivery, providing visibility of progress and performance
- Ensure all internal processes and external services comply with security and privacy policies and regulations (data and payments compliance in particular)
- Design information security plan to ensure security of all company assets and data
- Build an efficient end-to-end application infrastructure, with standard methodologies in software estimation and delivery
- Grow and lead a talented engineering team, developing the careers and technical capabilities of all team members
- Establish a high performing culture emphasizing innovation, growth, and development
The Successful Applicant
- Extensive software engineering experience (10+ years) in a fast-paced environment (startup leadership experience preferred)
- Strong foundations in data science and machine learning systems
- Firm understanding of cloud-based infrastructure management
- Tech stack: Typescript, NodeJS, React, React Native, GCP (Cloud Run, Cloud SQL (Postgres), Cloud Storage…), Firebase Auth, Terraform, Github Action
- Proven ability to scale and build large engineering teams from scratch
- Ability to lead team and drive high levels of engagement and performance
- Relevant industry experience is preferred (consumer-facing applications, marketplaces, financial services, lending services, startups)
