About Our Client

The company operates in the Transport & Distribution industry and is a well-established organisation with a significant presence in the region. Their focus is to establish and grow their Energy business in Indonesia, with a strategic focus on upstream, downstream, renewables, and offshore marine services.

Job Description

  • Develop the Energy segment in Indonesia, focusing on marine and offshore agency work.
  • Lead business setup and compliance with local regulations (e.g., SKK Migas).
  • Build and manage relationships with local authorities, energy companies, and 3rd-party vendors.
  • Oversee vessel import processes, project bids, and coordination once contracts are secured (may require on-site stationing for 1-2 months).
  • Work closely with the regional team to drive profitability and operational readiness.
  • Build and mentor a local team once business momentum is achieved.

The Successful Applicant

  • Industry background: Strong exposure to marine, offshore, or energy logistics. Experience:
  • Proven ability to set up and lead new operations or country-level business units.
  • Deep knowledge of Indonesian energy and logistics markets, including connections in Batam, East Indonesia, and Balikpapan.
  • Strong network of local vendors and partners to enable immediate quoting and project delivery.
  • Familiarity with freight forwarding, customs clearance, and offshore regulations.
  • Connections: Should have ties across the cable, EPC, and energy infrastructure sectors, as well as with relevant authorities.
