As Chief Operation / COO you will be a key member of the executive leadership team, responsible for driving operational excellence and program impact across development and humanitarian contexts. The COO partners closely with the CEO to deliver high-quality programs, manage organizational risk, and strengthen internal systems and partnerships.

Job Description

  • Co-lead the development and implementation of the organization's strategic plan and annual work plans.
  • Drive operational strategies that position the organization as a leader in its mission area.
  • Lead the design and delivery of innovative, evidence-based programs that address emerging challenges and prioritize sustainability.
  • Manage institutional and program-level risk across operations, partnerships, and emergency response.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies, donor requirements, and governance standards.
  • Collaborate on fundraising strategies, proposal development, and donor engagement.
  • Represent the organization externally to build strategic relationships with donors, government, and partners.
  • Provide leadership in planning and executing emergency and resilience programs.
  • Oversee supply chain, finance, and administrative functions to ensure efficiency and accountability.
  • Build a high-performing team through coaching, performance management, and capacity development.
  • Foster a collaborative, values-driven culture that promotes innovation and empowerment.

The Successful Applicant

  • Degree in social sciences or related field, with Master's Degree preferred
  • Minimum 15 years of senior leadership experience in non-profit or social impact sectors
  • Proven track record in strategic planning, program design, and operational leadership
  • Strong understanding of localization, partnerships, advocacy, and humanitarian programming
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Fluency in English
  • Ability to represent the organization credibly at national and international levels
