Job Description

The Chief Distribution Officer is responsible for leading, growing, and optimizing the insurance agency distribution network. This role oversees nationwide agency strategy, sales performance, agent recruitment, capability building, and channel productivity. The role ensures that all agency operations align with the company's strategic goals, sales targets, compliance standards, and customer‑centric values.

This role requires an energetic leader with strong sales management capabilities and deep knowledge of the insurance sector, including distribution dynamics, agent behavior, regulatory frameworks, and competitive landscape. Other responsibilities: Agency Strategy & Growth

  • Developing and executing a comprehensive agency distribution strategy focused on growth, productivity, and long‑term sustainability.
  • Designing scalable frameworks for agent recruitment, onboarding, licensing, and career progression.
  • Identify market expansion opportunities and lead agency penetration into untapped regions.



Sales Leadership & Revenue Delivery

  • Driving national sales performance through clear targets, performance dashboards, and incentive structures aligned with company goals.
  • Leading, motivating, and energizing agency sales teams to continuously improve performance, conversion, activity levels, and persistency ratios.
  • Working closely with Sales, Product, Underwriting, and Marketing teams to deploy campaigns that boost agency sales.
  • Monitoring and managing KPIs tied to agency channel performance.
  • Overseeing all agency operations, including field support, branch operations, tools, CRM, and digital platforms.
  • Ensuring seamless agent experience, process simplification, and efficient sales support to reduce friction and increase productivity.
  • Building strong collaboration between HQ and regional/branch teams.



Agent Capability Development

  • Strengthening agent competencies through structured training, coaching, certification, and digital learning initiatives.
  • Upgrading agency leadership capabilities (e.g., Unit Managers, Sales Managers, Branch Heads).
  • Fostering a high‑performance, ethical, and customer‑first culture across the agency network.



Compliance, Governance & Risk Management

  • Ensuring agency adherence to insurance regulatory requirements and company policies.
  • Strengthening sales compliance, ethical selling practices, and anti‑mis‑selling frameworks.
  • Coordinating with Legal, Compliance, and Audit teams to mitigate channel risks.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Chief Distribution Officer should have:

  • A strong background in the insurance/banking industry, ideally with experience in agency management or similar roles, and in-depth knowledge about the Indonesian clients.
  • Proven leadership skills and the ability to inspire and motivate teams.
  • A strategic mindset with a focus on achieving business objectives.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • A solid understanding of market trends and regulatory requirements in the insurance sector.
  • The ability to work effectively in a high-pressure, results-driven environment.
  • 20+ years of experience in insurance distribution, sales management, or agency leadership, or if you are in the banking background, you have familiarity with the insurance products.
  • Proven track record in leading and scaling sales organizations, ideally in insurance business.
  • Deep understanding of insurance agency operations, licensing, compensation, compliance, and sales behavior.
  • High energy, strong leadership presence, and ability to inspire large teams.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder‑management abilities.
  • Data‑driven mindset with strong strategic thinking.
  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's is a plus.
