Job Description

  • Secure cost-effective shipping options based on rates, transit time, and customer needs while developing efficient solutions like transshipments.
  • Oversee and mentor the customer service team, fostering collaboration and professional growth.
  • Build strong client relationships, address inquiries promptly, and ensure high satisfaction.
  • Work with sales and logistics teams to ensure smooth shipment processes, monitor shipments, and resolve carrier issues.
  • Identify operational improvements, implement best practices, and ensure adherence to industry regulations.
  • Negotiate with air and shipping lines, develop trade lane strategies, and maintain relationships with carriers and vendors.
  • Drive business growth, manage budgets, control expenses, and optimize profitability for assigned trade lanes.

The Successful Applicant

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in freight forwarding, with a strong background in operations, regulations, and tariffs, particularly in airfreight.
  • Proven leadership and team management experience, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build strong client and team relationships.
  • Expertise in freight forwarding software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to analyze and optimize freight processes, ensuring compliance with air and ocean shipping procedures.
  • Fluent in English and the official local language, enabling effective communication in an international business environment.
  • Skilled in negotiating with carriers and vendors to improve efficiency and profitability.
  • Thrives in fast-paced, dynamic environments, demonstrating adaptability and problem-solving skills.
